Reading Brings Memories

As I was watching from aside, my father was reading a book to my little brother who was going to become 3 this year. That made me remember the time when as a young girl with my brother who was 2 years below me. My father will always come to our room and read us a book. He would read to us many books, but the books that I remember was a Winnie The Pooh's Bedtime Story Book and also a Winnie The Pooh's story but it's full of bedtime songs inserted in it. Our father uses to have time for us at night to read to us the book, but currently, he is to busy for my younger brother and sister that they didn't get to experience the time that I as the eldest sister and also the eldest brother experienced.

For me to see my father reading to my younger siblings just bring back memories and joy of the past. I am so happy to live with this kind and helpful father that I love most.

"Thank you, Abah!"

p.s I call my father, Abah.

The Issue on Wearing a Hijab

In today's blog, I am going to go to a sensitive issue. Just remind yourself, that everyone has their rights and opinion about things and we should be understanding and mature in handling them.

HIJAB?

I was watching some videos at youtube and randomly decided to read at the comment section. As I was scrolling, I notice the question about hijab.

Some Muslim girls said that hijab is a choice, while some said that hijab is compulsory. The form of hijab is touching the subject of a Muslim's aurat.
There are many verses of the Quran and hadiths on the obligation of covering our aurats. Amongst them are:-

Surah An-Noor, Verse 31:

Translation:
And say to the believing women that they cast down their looks and guard their private parts and do not display their ornaments except what appears thereof, and let them wear their head-coverings over their bosoms, and not display their ornaments except to their husbands or their fathers, or the fathers of their husbands, or their sons, or the sons of their husbands, or their brothers, or their brothers’ sons, or their sisters’ sons, or their women, or those whom their right hands possess, or the male servants not having need (of women), or the children who have not attained knowledge of what is hidden of women; and let them not strike their feet so that what they hide of their ornaments may be known; and turn to Allah all of you, O believers! so that you may be successful.

Surah Al-Ahzab, Verse 59:

Translation:
O Prophet! say to your wives and your daughters and the women of the believers that they let down upon them their over-garments; this will be more proper, that they may be known, and thus they will not be given trouble; and Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.

As a Muslim, we should have knowledge about our religion especially the basics such as our aurat.
For female Muslims, our whole body is our aurat except our hands and face. Based on this hadith from our Prophet Muhammad that commands a woman to cover herself.

I am not specifically saying that it should be a hijab, but the must of covering our whole body except the face and hands. You could wear a hoodie and it'll be okay.

I have seen articles discussing contrasting views on what exactly aurat is, but what I have shared above specifically on aurat, is agreeable by majority Islamic scholars in the world, and also being practised by the majority of Muslims worldwide.

Prophet Muhammad has reminded us, “Without a doubt, my Ummah will never be gathered in misguidance. Whenever you see disagreement, hold fast to the greater majority.”
(Ibn Majah)

Just so you know, that I understand everyone has their opinions about this issue. So let's just be understanding about it and accept our opinion.

Mid-Exam Breakdown

Either everyone or most of you have been in this situation before.

Your sitting in the examination hall. Waiting and staring at your untouched question booklet. Your mind and heart praying to see the questions that you hope for are in the booklet. As you slowly turn the page turner (literally), foreign words and questions started to shout at you.

Okay not too foreign. Just words and questions that you may know but it ends up only one word. Yet the question ask for an essay.

I am no Einstein. I am not a philosopher. I read through my notes thousands of times, but why the important ones don't show up in my brain.

My brain trying to find the answer to a question.

There is also the situation of reading the question but in all of the excitement of answering and sending the paper in... You realise something. Your head was thinking of different things while your question is asking for a whole other chapter.

My Life just went downhill.

Any advice?

Good Luck!

Good Luck Everyone!
Either at school, university, work or staying home, good luck. Good luck with examinations and life. Remember that you are not the only one.

I am now struggling in my first year second-semester final exam. I already went to war for four papers and still four more left to go. It's going to be a long week, but it's worth it. Some people in different courses are struggling with last paper syndrome. Yet I am dying out of four paper syndrome.

I hope this can end fast so I can come back to my loving family at home for fasting and to celebrate Raya with.

Before I forget, happy fasting and Selamat Hari Raya to all of you.

Saya, Aku, Kita...

Today, I noticed that people have different information and perspective of the world and one another. When I was praying terawih, I was sadly in the middle. On both sides, someone is calling for me to 'rapatkan saf' on their side. Sadly, I chose a side.

I could really decide on what side to 'rapatkan saf'. This is all because of me having experience in two situations. Both of them was when I was in secondary school. As some of you may know, I went to two schools in standard one. In the first part of the year, I was in Sultan Ibrahim Girl School (SIGS) Johor Bahru, Johor. I stayed in the hostel. Every time I stayed there, I usually go to the right. As they all do they prayer by 'rapatkan saf' to the right.

But when I transfer to Sekolah Tun Fatimah (STF) Johor Bahru, Johor, a different situation occurs. Everyone 'rapatkan saf' to the middle. And as a girl who didn't want to shine a light on herself, follow both situations.

I also checked the internet and there were many that have both opinions. So... I'm stuck.

As this trouble occurs, I noticed that this is related to my problem with saying saya, aku, kita and also saying in my first name.

'Saya suka menyanyi.' If I say this, people call me goody-two-shoes.
'Aku suka menari.' If I say this, people call me a jerk or being rude. This is also my parent's forbidden word.
'Kita suka warna biru.' If I say this, people think I'm dumb as a don't know Malay grammar. But it's one of the normal calling of Johoreans.
'Alya suka melukis.' If I say this, people think I was referring to someone else and think it's strange.

No matter, how I call myself there is still a flaw. But everywhere I go these kinds of words people call themselves.

I will still continue my research on how these things go. Stay updated.

Karnival Pendidikan Tinggi Negara 2018

Karnival Pendidikan Tinggi Negara 2018

I was involved in Karnival Pendidikan Tinggi Negara 2018 which is located at my own university which is USM Kubang Kerian, Kelantan. I was involved in the modern dance and the flash mob.

This is the first performance that I did which was Flashmob. There was the first part, but the footage was lost. So I only have the second part which was the Panama dance.
Try to guess which one is me.

This the performance that I did with my dance group. Adikarma's Blitz DC. It was so cool and unlike the previous performance... I have fewer mistakes.

In addition to all the performance, let me show you guys my roommate/friend/coursemate's performance. She was so cool and dedicated as she was dancing in all three songs of this performance.

Poem of the Day

Sonnet 18

Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance, or nature's changing course, untrimm'd;
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow'st;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou grow'st;
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this, and this gives life to thee.

( Today I feel Shakespeary with no sudden motive. Enjoy. ;) )

Poem of the Day

A bell is no bell 'til you ring it,
A song is no song 'til you sing it,
And love in your heart
Wasn’t put there to stay -
Love isn’t love
'Til you give it away

Poem of the Day

Just shine like a star upon the sky,
and be what you want to be,
b'cuz your future,
it's your own possibilities.

Poem of the Day

Even when you are feeling blue,

smile a little it could make you feel true.

Wash away those useless tears,

take my hand we will get out of here.

(Here: the world of lies and misery)
